  William B. Lilly (CAI) (AARE)
Vice Chairperson

Mr. Lilly is a native of Norwood, North Carolina and has remained there. He was born November 4, 1949, and attended South Stanly High School and Wingate College. He graduated from Reppert Auction School in Decatur, Indiana in December 1972. Mr. Lilly became licensed as an auctioneer in North Carolina in May 1974, and is licensed in nine other states. Influenced by his father, Branch Lilly who built his own livestock market in Norwood, he remained in the family livestock business until 1988, when his father retired and the family business was sold. Mr. Lilly currently is president of Iron Horse Auction Co., Inc. located in Rockingham, North Carolina. Iron Horse Auction Co. conducts all types of auctions ranging from emerald mines, logging, sawmills, antiques, timber, industrial, and commercial properties. Mr. Lilly has conducted sales for many Fortune 500 companies, as well as several major banks. Additionally, he is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina and six other states. He is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina, and the National Association of Realtors. Mr. Lilly was inducted into the Auctioneer Association of North Carolina's Hall of Fame in 2001 and was the NC Grand Champion Auctioneer in 2004. Mr. Lilly was appointed to the North Carolina Auctioneer Licensing Board originally in 1992 by Governor James G. Martin and served as Board Chairman in 1994/1995. He was appointed to the Board in 1997 by Governor James B. Hunt and served a three-year term. Mr. Lilly was appointed to the Board in October 2009 by the Governor of North Carolina to serve a three-year term.

 

  Randy B. Lee
Chairperson

Mr. Lee resides in Johnston County and currently holds an auctioneer license and is a partner with the auction firm "Mouths of the South Auction Company, Inc." He has many years of experience preparing contracts, advertising, and marketing for all types of personal property. The Mouths of the South Auction Company specializes in on-site estate and personal property auctions. Mr. Lee recently retired from State Government where he was responsible for the marketing and selling of surplus state equipment utilizing various sale methods with gross sales annually of $18 to $20 million. Mr. Lee was appointed to the Board in August 2010 by the Governor of North Carolina.

 

  Clegg Grady
Board Member

Mr. Grady resides in Duplin County and holds a North Carolina Auctioneer's License. He was a tobacco auctioneer for over twenty years and a lead auctioneer for Wayne Implement Auction Corporation for over twenty-five years. Currently, he is involved in real estate, farm equipment, and municipality auctions and owner of Kenansville Equipment Company, Inc., a retail farm equipment dealership in Kenansville, NC. He and his wife Carol have two sons, both of whom are involved in the farm industry. His oldest son Adam helps him run the farm, and his son Ben works with him at the dealership. The Governor appointed Mr. Grady in September 2011 to a three-year term.

 

  Deborah Johnson
Board Member

Mrs. Johnson works for the State of North Carolina, and prior to that, she gained over 20 years experience in outside sales. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration: Management and Organizational Development from Mt. Olive College. She has her real estate license and is active in her community and Eastern NC where she serves on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts-North Carolina Coastal Pines. She and her husband, Kelly, have three adult children. She resides in Lenoir County. Mrs. Johnson was appointed to the Board in December 2011 by the Governor of North Carolina.
